"Big Sur Coast" Monterey, California, USA US scenic area! Big Sur is a scenic coastal area on the Central Coast, California, USA.  Cliffs rise from the coast facing the Pacific Ocean, leading to the Santa Lucia Mountains ... It is a beautiful beach, but it is not suitable for swimming due to high waves, low water temperature and strong currents.  The secluded waters, cliffs and beautiful scenery attract Beatnik artists and are the setting for novels by Brotigan and Henry Miller.

The Circle Bridge in Copenhagen, Denmark It’s Pi Day! Well, not that mouthwatering and cherry or berries filling pie, it's the day we celebrate the mathematical constant π. This day was chosen since today’s date (March 14) expressed numerically (in US format) matches the number’s first digits, 3.14. Pi represents the ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. It can be used to compute the area and circumference of a circle, such as the circles that make up the bridge we're looking at here in Copenhagen. (Who said maths wasn't useful in the real world?) Many towns, schools, and museums mark the day with festivities based around mathematics and, of course, serving pie. We can’t think of a more delicious way to study geometry.

Brightly coloured powder for sale during Holi A festival of  colors Hindus in India and around the globe are celebrating Holi today, a spring celebration also called the festival of love, or the festival of colors. Why colors? Because these colorful powders are flung in joyous revelry to welcome spring and celebrate the blossoming of love. It is a time to forget old grievances and hope for a bountiful spring harvest season.

Divers at El Pit Cenote, located in Dos Ojos Natural Park, Quintana Roo, Mexico A different kind of dive The divers are descending the clear, turquoise waters of a cenote on Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. A cenote is a sinkhole that’s created when the limestone bedrock collapses and exposes groundwater underneath, creating pools of fresh water that delight swimmers, and even cave divers. They’re diving in ‘El Pit’ Cenote, part of a flooded cave system near Tulum.
