Kathleen Lake and Mount Worthington in Kluane National Park, Yukon World’s largest concentration of ice fields! The magnificent glacial scenery at Kluane National Park and Reserve, easily draws visitors irrespective of the temperature. This time of the year, the park remains popular for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, dog sledding and ice fishing. With vast ice fields and a large concentration of glaciers, Kluane easily makes for a picturesque winter wonderland.

A crystal of real signal snowflake This is the real image of nature, not the figment of our imagination. Today is the world's first artificial snowflake day. It  was Dr. Ukichiro Nakatani, a Japanese scientist who became successful in forming first artificial snowflake. He  not only made artificial snow, but also noted the famous saying "Snow is a letter sent from heaven".  Dr. Nakatani  is also known as the pioneer of snow crystals and the author of scientific essays. The shape of the snow crystal changes depending on the temperature and humidity, so observing the shape can tell you the weather above.  It is said that there are no identical snow crystals, but they are basically hexagonal.  Its shape is derived from the form of bonding of water molecules.

Maple trees convert stored starch into sugars which when tapped, causes sap to flow. In this picture today, sap is likely dripping from the spout into the buckets attached to the trees. The amount of sap required to produce maple syrup is dependent on the sugar content of the sap. With a high sugar content, less sap is needed for syrup and vice versa. Winter has been very mild this year.  Maybe a little too much.  Snowball battles have become rare and hot chocolates were not as necessary as usual.  Strangely, we are a little disappointed not to have been able to take advantage of this atmosphere so mild in winter, as paradoxical as it is.  Little cocooning warm on Sunday morning when the flakes fall deafly on the ground.  No fogging while exhaling icy winter air. Winter warm  dishes rich in fat and comfort did not really taste the same either this winter.  A bit like drinking a Spritz while it is raining;  it's just not the same. So to compensate, we offer you this splendid view of the Alps under the snow which, we hope will make you feel this winter heat, as there is no  other.  And if you suddenly have a desire for melted Savoyard cheese, you have all our blessing! Otter Creek in winter in Brandon, Vermont Looking down on the Otter Otter Creek is the longest river entirely contained within the borders of Vermont and has been an important waterway since people settled in the area around 10,000 years ago. Originally an important trade route for the indigenous Abenaki, Algonquin, and Iroquois nations, it remained a vital part of the economy of the early European settlers up through the 19th century. In 1909, an aerial tramway was proposed to take tourists from Chamonix, the valley town below, to the top of Aiguille du Midi – a plan finally realised in 1955. The cable cars and viewing platform were upgraded most recently in 2012, and a new feature called ‘Step into the Void’ was added. Boathouse on Lake Minnewanka in Banff National Park, Alberta. Lake Minnewanka is a 142-metre-deep glacial lake, fed by the Cascade River. The First Nations referred to it as ‘Minn-waki’ which translates to ‘Water of the Spirits.’ This scenic spot is located five kilometres from the town of Banff in Alberta. 

"Sounkyo Ice Falls Festival", Kamikawa-cho, Hokkaido An ice waterfall festival has been held since January 23 in Sounkyo, Kamikawa-cho, Hokkaido.  This festival, which lasts until March 15, offers a variety of attractions, such as an iced bar where you can drink limited liquor, and Ainu folk dances in an illuminated ice town.
