Source of the Mundo River, Sierra de Alcaraz, Albacete. The birth of the Rio Mundo is a show that you should not miss. This tributary of the Segura sprouts hidden in the Albacete mountain range of Alcaraz thanks to an underground aquifer of karst origin that emerges abruptly and is then torn up by a cliff of almost 300 meters. This is what we show you today in our photograph and it is between the towns of Vianos and Riopar, in the natural park of the Calares del Mundo and Sima. If you want to go see it, you should know that in the nearest car park there is only room for 100 cars and on weekends it is usually crowded, so early in the morning if you do not want to queue.
