Callanish Stones

The 5,000 years old Callanish Stones are standing tall in the west coast of Lewis, Scotland. The monoliths rows stretch in a form of a circle. ultimately shape into a rudimentary cross. The center is occupied with a tomb which is guarded by these stones. The 12 feet tall mysterious Lewisian Gneiss have yet to reveal their secret.

The fictional Craigh na Dun from the famous series Outlander is inspired by the Callanish Stones of Isle of Lewis. The site of the stones is open for the visitors and people come here and touch these stones to know the tales behind them. You will hear a number of tales about the stones whenever you have a chance to visit them.
